Here’s what I would do if I had to start over: Talk to more people in the field. I spent way too long guessing what I wanted to do instead of just asking. One 20 minute conversation would have saved me months of chasing the wrong roles. Stop assuming everyone else is an expert. The people I was intimidated by were googling the same things I was. Nobody knows all of it, and the ones who act like they do usually know the least. Spend more time actually learning, less time collecting certs. The paper gets you the interview. Being able to explain what you did is what gets you the job. Build something, even if it's small. A home lab, a script, a writeup. It's the difference between saying you know something and showing it. Be patient with the first year. It's confusing for everyone.
