Why it worked

The video succeeds by framing a product launch as a supportive, community-focused founder story rather than a traditional advertisement, which builds trust and encourages organic engagement.

Summary

The creator highlights a Black-owned startup called Cioré that is developing a privacy-focused, modular, and solar-assisted smartphone. She praises the founder's progress in creating a 3D-printed prototype and encourages viewers to follow the company's journey.

Structure

1Introduction to the Cioré phone concept
2Explanation of the phone's unique features
3Review of the founder's progress and prototype
4Encouragement and support for the founder

Product placement

Cioré (a) it ACTS — the creator shows the company's website, prototype images, and a 3D-printed model of the phone they are developing. Removing this would change the video as it is the subject of the entire discussion.

I found a Black woman who is designing a cell phone, y'all. Yes, you heard me, cell phone. The company is called Cioré and she's currently in the early stages of raising funds to design a privacy-first, modular phone. And modular meaning you don't have to continue to upgrade the full phone. And solar-assisted so you're not only relying on 100% battery power. I'm not going to pretend to know how any of the engineering works, but what I do know after looking through her site and looking on her TikTok is that she's been at this for a while and she already has a 3D-printed prototype now. Right now, it's very grassroots effort. I believe she just crossed her first goal of raising $10,000. But I just want to say, congratulations girl for seeing a problem that we all talk about and complain about all day long and doing something about it. Definitely check her out.
