Why it worked

The use of high-profile actors and a dramatic, cinematic aesthetic creates immediate intrigue for fans of the franchise.

Summary

This is a promotional poster for a new season of the television series American Horror Story, titled Inmate. It features the cast members and announces the premiere date on FX.

Structure

1Introduction of the show title and theme
2Display of the main cast members
3Announcement of the premiere date and network

Product placement

American Horror Story (a TV series) appears as the subject of the promotional poster. FX (a television network) appears as the broadcaster/distributor. Removing these would change the entire purpose of the image.
