Gnomes

Why it worked

The creator leverages personal credibility by revealing he worked on the show, which adds an authentic, behind-the-scenes layer to his recommendation.

Summary

The creator recommends the Australian comedy-horror series 'Gnomes' as part of his 'Spooky Season' watchlist. He highlights the premise and mentions his own involvement as an extra in the production.

Structure

1Hook about Australian horror
2Introduction of the series Gnomes
3Explanation of the plot and genre
4Personal anecdote about working on the show
5Final recommendation and CTA

Product placement

Gnomes (a TV series) — it ACTS as the subject of the recommendation, and the creator explains its premise and genre; Stan (a streaming service) — it APPEARS in the caption as the platform where the series is streaming, but removing it would not change the video's core recommendation of the show itself.

AUSTRALIAN HORROR HAS BEEN WELL RECEIVED LATELY WITH THE LIKES OF LEVITICUS. SO LET ME PUT YOU ON TO A NEW AUSSIE COMEDY HORROR SERIES AS MY SPOOKY SEASON RECOMMENDATION OF THE DAY. I'M TALKING ABOUT GNOMES, WHICH STARS ASA BUTTERFIELD AS A SMALL TOWN COP DEALING WITH A BUNCH OF KILLER GNOMES COMING TO LIFE. LOOK, I MIGHT BE A BIT BIASED RECOMMENDING THIS ONE. I DID WORK ON IT AS AN EXTRA, BUT IT'S A REALLY FUN WATCH AND SUPER UNIQUE AND DEFINITELY VERY MUCH A SPOOKY SEASON VIBE. HAVE YOU CHECKED OUT THIS SHOW YET?
