FlyLady habits I thought were ridiculous until I finally started feeling in control of my home. 😂 Honestly when I was reading her book, I was like, yeah OK. 🫠🫠 1. Swishing & swiping the toilet EVERY day. Every day?! For real? But it turns out spending 20 seconds giving the toilet a quick swish makes cleaning it later SO much easier. Who knew? 2. The 15-minute timer method. The idea is to work on one project for 15 minutes, switch to another for 15, come back for 15, and then take a 15-minute break. As someone who hates walking away from an unfinished project, this one was hard for me. But I noticed that when I came back, my brain felt refreshed. I also started looking forward to that break. 3. Starting a load of laundry every day. We’re a family of 3. Daily laundry sounded excessive. But smaller loads mean smaller piles to fold and put away, which is the part I actually dread. Seriously I HATEEEEEE putting laundry away. This made it way more manageable. I’m learning that keeping a home running doesn’t have to mean spending hours cleaning. Sometimes it’s just finding little systems that make everything feel less overwhelming. I’m testing out home routines and systems to see what actually works, so follow along if you’re trying to get your house together, too. Tell me: Which one sounds the most ridiculous to you? 😂 or is there something she recommended and you scoffed at but then in the long run, it ended up helping you??
