If you’re in 300L and think it’s too late to graduate with a First Class, read this. 🧵 📌 1. Know Your Current CGPA Before making plans, calculate your current CGPA and determine what you need to achieve your goal. Be realistic, but don’t count yourself out. 📌 2. Treat Every Semester Like a Fresh Opportunity Don’t carry the disappointment of previous semesters into a new one. Learn from your mistakes and start making better academic decisions. 📌 3. Stop Reading Only When Exams Are Close Read consistently from the beginning of the semester. Review what you were taught each day instead of waiting until the exam timetable comes out. 📌 4. Prioritise Your 3-Unit and Difficult Courses Give your courses the attention they deserve, especially those you struggle with. Every course contributes to your CGPA, so don’t neglect any course because it seems easy. 📌 5. Master Active Recall and Spaced Repetition Don’t just read your notes repeatedly. Close your materials and test what you remember. Revisit the information over several days to strengthen your memory. 📌 6. Make Past Questions Your Friend Use past questions to understand how your lecturers set questions, identify recurring themes, and practise answering under exam conditions. Don’t rely on them alone. 📌 7. Build a Serious Academic Circle Surround yourself with people who take their academics seriously. Discuss difficult topics, teach one another, and hold each other accountable. 📌 8. Don’t Allow One Bad Result to Define You I had a carryover, but that wasn’t the end of my academic story. I kept learning, adjusting, and becoming more consistent. 📌 9. Calculate Your Semester GPA Targets Know the GPA you need each semester and monitor your progress. Don’t wait until your final year to start taking your CGPA seriously. 📌 10. Be Consistent, Even When You Don’t Feel Motivated Some days will be difficult. Study anyway. Your results are built through the small decisions you make consistently, not just the hours you put in before exams. One important truth: Graduating with a First Class from 300L depends on your current CGPA, your school’s classification requirements, and the credits you have left. It’s not guaranteed, but you can calculate your possibilities and work strategically towards the best result you can achieve. I went from having a carryover to recording semester GPAs of 4.47, 4.67, and 4.83. CONSISTENCY CHANGED MY STORY. YOURS CAN CHANGE TOO. 🎓❤️ #becomingisaac #students #studytok #study #firstclass
