There's no timeline for learning to trust again. Sweet Patty was surrendered to be euthanized by the only family she'd ever known. Imagine how frightening it must be to suddenly lose everything familiar and have no idea why. She's scared. She's unsure. And right now, she's still trying to understand that she's safe. And that's okay. We don't need her to be brave today. We don't need her to wag her tail, make friends or even come over to say hello. We'll sit beside her. We'll talk softly to her. We'll give her space when she needs it and love when she's ready to accept it. If it takes days, weeks or months, that's okay too. She doesn't owe us anything. Because love isn't something she has to earn, and healing doesn't come with a deadline. One day, I hope Patty looks around and realizes nobody is leaving her behind again. Until then, we'll keep showing up. This is Rescue Reimagined.
