Hook
Yesterday, I made a post about a creator who bought from a puppy mill and claimed that she rescued the dog knowing damn well that that was a scam. The people in the comments are what I find so incredibly frustrating and also fascinating because how are we getting from A to B? The point that people in animal rescue are trying to make is that puppy mills should not exist and they only exist because of supply and demand. So when you have an influencer with a huge platform influencing people to go support these puppy mills, we're just contributing to the problem. Puppy mills should not exist because puppy mills are unethical. And it seems like all the people care that these dogs need somewhere to go, but we don't care about the millions and millions of dogs that get put into shelter systems every single year. Where does that energy get lost just because it's a puppy mill? You lose me. You lose me. I'm lost.
