“It’s hard to bear” President Zelenskyy opens up about the emotional toll of leading a country through war, describing the pain of giving awards to parents who have lost their children fighting for Ukraine. He struggles to hold back tears as he recalls grieving parents asking him for a hug, admitting that he isn’t ashamed to show emotion. Despite the weight of so much loss, he reveals he barely sleeps, spending every night speaking with air defence teams about the threats facing Ukraine.
