Labyu with an Accent

Star Cinema comes back to cinemas with its official Metro Manila Film Festival 2022 entry, 'Labyu With An Accent,'

Why it worked

The video leverages the high-engagement format of celebrity reaction videos to naturally weave in a promotional mention of their upcoming film, making the advertisement feel like authentic, entertaining content.

Summary

Actors Jodi Sta. Maria and Coco Martin react to a viral meme featuring them and discuss the behind-the-scenes story of how it was filmed during a promotional interview for their movie, Labyu with an Accent.

Structure

1Introduction of the actors reacting to a meme
2Actors explain the context of the meme
3Anecdote about the filming of the interview
4Humorous reflection on the awkward moment

Product placement

Labyu with an Accent (a film) — it ACTS as the subject of the promotional interview and the reason for the actors' appearance; removing it would change the entire purpose of the video. ABS-CBN Star Cinema (a film production studio) — it merely APPEARS as the channel name and source of the content.
