1. The Understanding-First Rule Don't rush to finish your notes. Focus on understanding concepts. Break difficult topics into smaller parts and explain them in your own words. If you cannot explain what you've read without checking your notes, revisit it. 2. The 24-Hour Rule Never allow lectures to pile up. Make it a habit to revisit what was taught within 24 hours. Organise your notes, clarify confusing areas and reinforce what you learnt while it's still fresh. 3. The Closed-Book Test After studying, close your materials and write down everything you remember. Use questions, self-testing and teaching methods to identify gaps in your understanding. This is active recall. 4. The Weakness-First Strategy Stop spending all your study hours on courses you already understand. Identify your weakest courses and give them extra attention. Tackle difficult topics when your mind is still fresh. 5. The Lecturer's Pattern Method Study past questions strategically. Identify recurring topics, understand how questions are structured and practise answering them. Don't just memorise answers; understand the concepts behind them. 6. The Consistency System Create a realistic study routine and stick to it. Find a distraction-free environment, revise regularly and avoid depending on last-minute preparation. Consistency will always beat occasional bursts of motivation. My final advice: You don't necessarily need to read longer hours; you need a better approach to studying. These are some of the principles that helped shape my academic journey. ❤ #becomingisaac #motivation #consistency #students #studytok
