As someone who's been in tech for seven years, what's your opinion on CS degree versus bootcamp versus self-taught route to go into software engineering? I have a personal opinion and then I have what I think is like the field opinion. Most companies you work at, especially if you go in as a software engineer, your opinion matters, especially when you're hiring, you're the person interviewing. And I don't have a preference. I believe I'm not alone in thinking that I don't really care if you have a CS degree or not. What I do care about and what I believe people in my field care about is that you can prove that you know what you know. If you can prove that, no amount of CS degree is going to change that.
