After years of building for others, I'm finally starting my own company. It's a sportswear brand for pickleball and I'm headed to China in one week to work with manufacturers, source fabrics and begin sample production. Now you may be thinking, Maggie, I thought you worked in tech? I do, but before startups, venture capital and even med school, I actually went to Savannah College of Art and Design for fashion construction and design. So now I'm combining everything I love and everything I've learned into one thing. For the past 6 months, I've been conducting user interviews, researching the market, working with designs, getting feedback and it's finally time to bring it all into the physical world. Next week, I'll be in China to begin the production journey, so follow along to see how I choose a manufacturing partner.
