So, I've had a lot of questions about this. What are these numbers that I've written into the book prep for 2025? So, these numbers are your relative value units or your RVUs. These relative value units or RVUs are going to be key whenever you are sequencing your CPT codes. When you have multiple procedures, then you will sequence them from highest complexity to lower complexity, okay? So, decreasing order. Now, a lot of my students have asked, how am I supposed to know which one is more complex? What if they're super close? You know, all of those types of things. So, that's how you figure it out. Your higher the RVU is going to be the more complex, and then the lower the RVU is the least complex. So, therefore, for when you are coding from scratch or you don't have your multiple choices, then you will use those relative value units to help you determine the order of sequencing. You will not need to know these RVU values on the exam itself. However, while you are learning and absorbing and learning how to code from scratch, they will play a key part in how you answer your questions. So, you can have the correct codes, but if they're sequenced in the wrong order, then your modifiers are going to be appended incorrectly, and then it's going to open up a whole can of worms of making sure that your provider is not being reimbursed correctly and all of that kind of stuff.
