Finding the Right Email Address
I found 5-10 possible emails for each person I was trying to reach.
I do this to avoid bait emails like elon@tesla.com that they never check.
I used tools like RocketReach and CEO Email to make my list.
(There are more ways, but I'm not sure how legal those are
I pick one primary email and cc/bcc the rest.
Crafting the Email
CEOs and founders are busy.
If they're not busy, then they're probably old and trying to relax
(reference to the last picture).
In some of my most successful email outreaches, I used a simple 5-
sentence structure.
(Most of these emails didn't even include my resume.)
I start with "I know you're busy and receive a lot of emails, so this
will only take 20 seconds to read."
This shows you're considerate of their time.
If you want to start a longer conversation, you can do that after
they respond.
Here's the 5-sentence structure I used
Sentence #1: Statement of consideration.
"I know you're busy so I'll keep this brief"
Sentence #2: Introduction.
Sentence #3: My experience.
Sentence #4: Why I reached out to you specifically.
Sentence #5: Proposal/invitation to chat.
I first started my email "journey" after
hearing this quote from Steve Jobs:
"Most people never pick up the phone and
call, most people never ask. And that's what
separates, sometimes, the people that do
things from the people that just dream
about them."
Since then, cold emailing has genuinely
changed my life.
