Auto captions on CapCut are not free anymore. But here's the thing, most people don't know there's actually a free web app that's been around even before CapCut, and it can recreate the Ali Abdaal style captions, and I actually think this is the same tool they've been using. And here's how to do it. Go to web.descript.com, click transcribe a file, upload your trim video, and it'll transcribe the audio for you. Click captions and you'll see a bunch of animation styles. To match the Ali Abdaal caption style, click the captions. Click the three dots under style. Choose clean, fill to black. Add a background and set it to eight. Change the background color to this hex code. Set active word to black. Set future words to this color hex code. And lastly, pick your preferred font. And that's it. Now yes, it's free for one hour of transcription per month, but it only exports at 720p with a watermark, but I found the loophole. Drag the video off to the side, change the background to green, rotate, resize and center the captions. Export that clip, import into CapCut, chroma key the green background, resize and rotate, and boom, captions with no watermark, completely free. The downside, it's a bit of a process. So if you wanna skip the extra steps, I recommend subscribing to save time. Use the link in my bio if you're interested. I get a small commission from that which helps fund content like this. Comment if this helped. And as always, see you in the next one.
