Not gonna lie, I'm tired of having straight Asian hair, so I booked a flight to California just to get a perm. Come along with me. I could've gone local, but I couldn't find anybody. The only problem, my family decided to tag along, which means my hair appointment just got way more expensive. All right, touched down in Orange County. One last look at the straight hair before we take the leap. Super nervous, not sure how this one's going to turn out. Pulled up to the salon in Irvine, got my hair washed, visor on, rods in, and the first solution's cooking. 30 minutes under this heater, definitely too late to back out now. Second solution goes in, rods come off, and yep, curls are coming in. Time to wash it all off and see how it looks. Here's my first reaction. Let's see what we've got. Trip was worth it for the first time, but it looks fire. This is Jay. Found him on socials. I had to fly in because he definitely had the best work. Time for a quick cleanup and now styling it out. Jay's showing me how to keep it looking natural, and it's pretty easy maintenance. If you have straight Asian hair, you know it's a pain in the ass. Stoked to wake up and have my hair looking decent for once. And here it is, fresh perm. Honestly, I'm happy with how it turned out. Before, and after. Was it worth it? Let me know in the comments.
