Steam Machines are back! This black box is Valve's new living room PC. It contains an AMD CPU, discrete Radeon GPU, and 16GB of RAM. It runs SteamOS, Valve's own operating system, much like the Steam Deck, though it's far more powerful than that. Over six times as fast, according to Valve. Valve's aim is for it to play every game on Steam at 4K 60, though admits you will need to run upscaling to get there. We played Cyberpunk 2077 on it at 4K with FSR enabled, and it ran just fine. Though we got much smoother results at 1080p, which seems like a much better fit for the hardware. There are two storage options to choose from, 512GB or 2TB. The SSD can be replaced, though it's easier to increase the storage with a micro SD card slotted into the front. There's a light strip integrated into the front of the cube, which can change color or show visual cues for downloads or messages. If you turn it off, you wouldn't even know it was there. So after a failed attempt with Steam Machines a decade ago, does Valve now have everything it needs to make them a success? Let us know what you think.
