allow me to introduce you to the cutest river town in Minnesota and no it's not Stillwater it's the town I grew up in Red Wing Minnesota it's literally just 60 miles south of the Twin Cities and absolutely picturesque not only during the summer but for the holidays or even just to get away for the day I feel like it's one of those things that you don't realise a good thing until it's gone I didn't have as much appreciation for Red Wing when I lived here until I go back now and my parents moved closer to the cities which I do love so they are closer to me and I wanna drop my kids off but nothing made my mouth water more than walking into Hannish Bakery and seeing those buttercream cookies through the glass yes I did get one in high school I even briefly dated this guy who worked there and he said if a finger accidentally got in one they couldn't sell it and he would do that for me I feel like that's 20 years ago now so I can like out him like that every year in Red Wing though they do a holiday stroll and I don't really remember it that vividly even when I was a silly little teenager again who also didn't recognise the good thing that she had until it's gone but you guys they had like a horse drawn carriage they had Santa tons of activities like food carts later at night there was like a drone show the tree lighting there was every single store was open and and here's the thing I also didn't realise how many cute adorable little shops that there are in Red Wing like I'm not just talking like little knick knack shops I'm talking about like actual legit things that you buy for your house and there's this cute little shop for kids that has like kids clothing and then they have like resale clothing and I it's called like the Tootie Two's I think oh my gosh seriously adorable the way that Red Wing is honestly the most pretty river town with the Saint James Hotel and Red Wing confectionery yes everybody knows that I love my sweet treats it is just mind boggling to me that people don't do more like getaways here because everybody's like oh Stillwater is so wonderful I'm not trying to rag on Stillwater you guys okay I'm not trying to say like oh Stillwater is the worst but if you really want a legit getaway you should 100% go to Red Wing I will say that if you need a little getaway that's like a little less than an hour away from the Twin Cities Red Wing is totally it
