I research Christmas trips so you don't have to. Here places I'd actually spend my money in 2026. First up, we have Quebec City, Canada. If I could only pick one, I'm choosing Quebec. You get all the snow, the lights, gorgeous architecture. And you can't forget about the European style Christmas markets. This trip would feel like you're up without actually flying to Europe. Now if I'm trying to spend the least amount of money, I'm picking McAdenville, North Carolina. The biggest attraction is their lights and they're completely free. Not to mention they're literally called Christmas Town USA. I definitely make a weekend out of it instead of spending thousands of dollars going to a big Christmas destination. Now for a couples trip, I'm choosing Newport, Rhode Island. Decorated mansions, historic streets, waterfront hotels make it cozy and romantic. If you miss what Christmas used to feel like, then 100% choose Frankenmuth, Michigan. They're home to the largest Christmas store, Bronner's Christmas Wonderland. The whole town just brings back waves of nostalgia. You're also known for their world famous chicken dinners. For a big city Christmas, I'm picking Chicago. You get things like the Christkindlmarket, the ice skating, tons of lights and tons of activities like Macy's Walnut Room. It's just perfect. And yes, I would choose over New York for the value. But my answers will change depending on what you want for Christmas. Comment down below your vibe + budget and I'll tell you where to go.
