If you ghost me and you miss a deadline, you pay a fee, your project is paused and you're rescheduled into the future. Let's talk about it. If you're new here, my name is T and I help service-based business owners improve their operations through systems, automations and AI. And how do I know what I'm talking about? Well, it's what I've done for 14 years. I have run my own service-based businesses and generated millions in revenue. I've worked with thousands of clients and hundreds of customers and I hear the same thing all the time. T, I have a client that has ghosted me. They're not showing up. I can't get in touch with them. They're late on their deadline. What do I do? And for the most part, what I see and I've been in the back end of a lot of businesses, I'll see that people allow that all the time. Like you miss a deadline, oh, no problem, just get it to me by this date. Or if someone ghosts them, something happened in their life and they come back a month later, you try to hurry up and squeeze them in in that moment. And I used to be like that too. Because that's what we do as service-based business owners, service, right? Our goal is to pour into our client's cup and make sure they get what they paid for. That is the goal and to share our expertise, right? But if you want to be in this game long-term for over a decade plus some, you're going to have to start setting some boundaries with your clients. And it's going to be uncomfortable at first, but I promise you, they're going to respect it and love it because it gives them clear, you know, boundaries, but also it's going to help you in your business and also save you a ton of money. What happens when a client ghosts you? Let's say that they've purchased something, they've signed a contract, you're working on the project and then they just disappear. Well, what happens is is that you start working on the next client and the next client and the next client and then they come back suddenly and let's say it's a month where you are swamped, right? And they come back and they say, hey, let's start my project back. Here you go. You're going to have to literally try to squeeze them in. You already have a ton of clients that you're working with currently. You're already exhausted and busy and now that person is now added on top when you had not planned for that to happen. That is not okay. What should be happening when a client ghosts you is they should be paying a fee to come back. And that's what I implemented and it has saved me so much stress. Basically, if you ghost, you ghost. I totally understand. If you come back, you need to pay a restart fee. That restart fee that you pay will allow you to get back on my schedule, a date that I choose, my next available opening and I will allow you to finish your project because I'm not out here trying to not work with you, you know, life happens, things happen, right? So, pay your fee, get back on my schedule and now I can give you the attention that you deserve. Done. If you don't do it that way, what happens is is that people will start ghosting you and you will get extremely overwhelmed. And that is not what we want. We want you to be able to provide services to your clients and to actually have a business that makes you happy. And in order to do that, you need to set those type of boundaries. Also, new clients coming in, when they see that restart fee, they will stick to their deadlines. They will not miss. They are so good at sticking to their deadlines that I've barely ever had to even give the restart fee. And before I had the restart fee, I felt like I was giving it out all the time. People was just willy-nilly doing whatever they wanted to do. But now with the restart fee, I barely even have to use it because clients already know, if I ghost and I miss my deadlines, I have to pay. And that is what I want to tell you as a service-based business owner. Definitely get your operations in line. It saves you so much money, like you have no idea. And also, you make money too, because if a client does decide to ghost you, that's a extra fee that you get that goes into your business. So, if you have any questions about that or anything about running a service-based business, I do free live group consulting on Fridays, guys and I'm so excited about it.
