This is my traditional wedding vlog part one. This is a Ghanaian traditional wedding, but with a twist because I actually married a Jamaican and Bajan man. So there was some cultural influences, not really in the ceremony, but more so in the music and the food. But let's get into the vlog. So we beat our faces to the gods, okay? In the morning, everyone look good, my mum look good, everyone look good, and everyone was tea, clock it. I ended up rocking up somehow late, even though we were very much on time, and yeah, had to have umbrellas covering me. But this was actually the first time my husband and I saw each other. We didn't see each other because we didn't get to do a first look. But as a Ghanaian traditional goes, there's a dowry and a list, and these were the items brought in, and basically they were discussing things before I got there. Oh, my husband has seen a flower, he wants to pluck the flower. Where's the flower? She's coming. I had a Adoa dancer in front of me, as well as my nieces, my sisters, and I had my maid of honour and my chief bridesmaid behind me too. And yeah, this was the first time we saw each other, so it was actually like really cool to see. Like he looked really, really good in his kaftan, and of course the Kente slayed. Um, this was the first time my family in law had ever been to a trad, let alone a Ghanaian trad, and they were in it. So I, they were a little bit nervous, but like there wasn't really much to for them to do. They didn't really have anything to say. It was just more so on my side because it's the girl really who's being taken away from her family. So then we went into advice. Um, we also had a little sermonette as well. Um, they made my father in law speak patois, which was funny, but, um, ultimately it was a really, really quick ceremony to be fair, even though we were a little bit late. But we had an incredible ceremony, and I'll get into part two where things get a little bit harder because we get into the party.
