This is Common Clay Space in Cupertino, a new pottery studio that offers classes, workshops and memberships. I signed up for their one time class, so let me take you along. This is my first time doing pottery and they teach you step by step on what to do. Our first item was a plate. So here's me pushing the clay down. The instructor first shows you how to do it and then they walk by as you're doing it yourself. I've always wanted to try doing pottery but never knew where to look. So I feel like the location of this studio is actually super close to a lot of restaurants that you can either grab dinner before or after your class. Anyways, back to the pottery. Here is me thinning out my plate and making it circular. They also glaze it for you here and you get to choose what colour you want your plate and your cup to be at the end. I don't know what this is called, but I'm basically pushing the plate upwards and this is where I thin it out too much and I made it flop. But it's okay, we bounce back. Here is the cup that we were allegedly supposed to make. I also actually thinned this one out too much and it ended up collapsing on itself. But That is what a one time class includes for around $105. They also have a six week commitment course which is around $395 which is a pretty good deal in my opinion. They also offer a pit firing and wheel throwing boot camps. That's definitely something I wanna check out next time. But they glaze it for you in these beautiful colours and you can pick it up in two weeks and take it home.
