Starting a clothing brand: Registering a trademark for $900 and not knowing if that's what I was supposed to do. I'm trying to grow a brand and I just paid in $900 for premium trademark registration. Prepared application, included. Application status tracking, included. Online document delivery, included. Comprehensive federal, state, and common law search, included. Attorney consultation, included. Subtotal $899.00. Initial payment $899.00. Approved. Total payment $899.00. And I don't even know if that's what I was supposed to do. I don't even know if that was like the right thing to do. And this right here is exactly what entrepreneurship and starting your business feels like. You have to make a decision and you're doing it for the very first time and you try to do your research and you try to consult, but ultimately the decision that you end up making, you don't know if it's the right one. I was back and forth between do I do this on LegalZoom or do I hire a trademark attorney? Then I hit decision paralysis because everyone that I asked, like I asked chat, I asked two friends that are going to law school and I asked an attorney. No one was really like, this is what you need to do. Everyone was like, in the world of law, like everything's a case by case basis. LegalZoom could be beneficial, but also a trademark attorney could be beneficial. And I'm like, okay, but either one is expensive. So like, what do I do? And I chose LegalZoom because they include an attorney consultation and one of the things with hiring trademark attorneys is that I didn't even know where or how to find one. I also realized that I have to file this thing three different times because I have to file for the name, the logo, and the specific word mark image. So there's more than one thing I need to file for. So I kind of was like, let me use LegalZoom to get started, do the attorney consultation and then I can go from there. And for the other two applications that I have to do, I can adjust something. So that's where I'm at right now. So if you are like in the legal or law world, like don't come for me, I am like trying my best, trying to take a step. It is really tough trying to spend $900 and not really know if you're doing the right thing. But out of all the places that I consulted, nobody was like, don't use LegalZoom like that's that.
