If you haven't heard of Kugig, you might have seen their AI videos and not realized. We found a ton of AI accounts spamming some gross videos that make claims like this toothpaste will save your life or this wash is selling out of stores. Some are subtle, but a lot of them are pretty disturbing and manipulative. It's all for a small hygiene brand called KUGI, sold exclusively through a Hong Kong-based Amazon store front called this and a few Tik Tok shops based in Chinatown. The campaign includes bots that boost videos with views and planted comments. The accounts will heavily moderate comments sections so only planted one stick around and all of their accounts post similar videos. They're actually making a ton of generations from just a few AI video prompts and spamming those. The natural randomness of AI videos helps avoid spam filters because no two AI videos are exactly the same. The accounts are obviously breaking Tik Tok's rules. So when we reported them in bulk as part of a written story, they took them all offline. They're proactively stopping many more as much as possible, and yet there are still affiliated accounts popping up every day. These sorts of campaigns are on every platform, and they are all struggling to keep up.
