Part 1 of everything I'm doing to raise my low ferritin levels. For reference, about a month and a half ago I tested at a 9 for ferritin. Optimal levels for women is 70+ and like 9 is not even within range. If you have brain fog, depression, anxiety, are sensitive to caffeine, out of nowhere get heart palpitations, chest pains, dizziness, easy bruising, hair falling out, nails brittle, any combination of these symptoms. Highly recommend getting your ferritin checked. Okay, so this video I'm gonna be talking about supplements because that is what I recommend getting started on immediately after you get your ferritin checked. This one was so highly recommended on every TikTok video, every Reddit thread that I read through. Thorne iron bisglycinate. It's supposed to be the gentlest on your stomach because iron pills are known for making people constipated. So this one is supposed to not do that and I haven't experienced that since starting these. I've also been, um, conscious of adding a lot more vegetables to my diet because I don't wanna get constipated. I will make a whole separate video on diet but for just supplements for this video. Highly recommend this one. Each tablet has 25 mg of elemental iron. I take two a day in the morning on an empty stomach and then usually along with that I will take L glutamine. This is supposed to prep your gut lining to help absorb the iron. Has vitamin B6 in it. I just ordered this one off of Amazon. Does it do anything? I don't know. I actually don't feel a difference whether or not I take this. So that's my morning combo and sometimes at night I will take this combination of lactoferrin. It's also supposed to help your body absorb iron better. And Vitron C, which is what my mum recommended me and what they give out at hospitals. I think it's 65 milligrams of elemental iron and 125 milligrams of vitamin C, which helps your body absorb iron better because it limits hepcidin in your body. Within the first two to three weeks of taking iron supplements, a lot of my symptoms subsided. The hot flashes subsided? Did I even say that's a symptom? Earlier I was having hot flashes and the brain fog and anxiety have slowly been getting better as well. As far as if my actual levels are going up, it's still too early to tell. I'm not gonna get tested for at least probably another month. But symptoms wise I have been feeling better, so that's what counts for me. I'll talk more about my diet as well as what I'm doing for my hair loss in separate videos, so stay tuned for that!
