how long it takes to heal iron deficiency with supplements. If your ferritin is in the single digits or even the tens and 20s, you are not gonna get better in a month. I'm sorry, I hate to break it to you, but do not expect to feel back to 100% and have all of your hair back on your head within a month of supplementing with iron supplements. If you're able to get a referral to a hematologist or you get an iron infusion, that might speed things up, and that's great. But for a majority of people who are just using iron supplements, be prepared to be patient and consistent with the iron supplements for a long, long time. I'm on month four and some days I still wake up and feel how I feel like at the beginning of this journey, which is not a great feeling. And I look at my health app and I'm like, oh, it's because I took 20,000 steps yesterday. That was completely unnecessary. For me, it took around one and a half months to get from a 9 to a 38, which is around a 30 point increase, which is about a third of where I need to be. So I would say like it would take a full six months for me to get to a hundred plus in ferritin because at at the beginning I was really strict about my supplementation. I was taking a lot, a lot of iron. And then since then I haven't been perfect, but yeah, just be patient. You cannot speed up the healing process any more than you can consume and absorb iron, which takes time. So patience.
