PUTTING IN TURF IN OUR SH*T SHOW BACKYARD

Our backyard faces due west and gets too much sun for grass. So I basically made an outdoor play mat with artificial grass. Here’s the how to. HOW TO INSTALL ARTIFICIAL GRASS (DIY 8x12 Backyard Project) 🌱🛠️ Here’s exactly how I installed this 8x12 artificial grass area: 1️⃣ Mark your area + dig it out Removed grass, weeds, roots, and excavated the area to make room for the base. 2️⃣ Level the ground Used an 8-foot straight board to drag across the surface and level everything out. 3️⃣ Compact the soil Packed the dirt down with a hand tamper for a solid foundation. 4️⃣ Install weed barrier Rolled out weed barrier fabric and secured it with landscape nails about every 2 feet. 5️⃣ Add aggregate base Poured in a local gravel/aggregate mix, spread evenly, leveled again, then compacted thoroughly. 6️⃣ Roll out the turf Laid down the artificial grass, stretched it tight, and positioned it exactly where I wanted it. 7️⃣ Secure the turf Used 6-inch galvanized nails every 6 inches around the perimeter and about every 2 feet through the middle. 8️⃣ Add edging Installed reclaimed quarried redstone around the border for a clean finished look. 9️⃣ Add infill Brushed in antimicrobial turf infill to help support the blades and improve durability. ✅ Final result: low maintenance, clean, and usable year-round. #artificialgrass #turfyard #diyartificialgrass #turf
