Starting June 15, programmatic usage gets its own dedicated budget instead. Your subscription limits don't change, they're now reserved for interactive use. Anthropic has decided to no longer allow programmatic usage of Cloud code with their subscription. Everybody is mad, pissed. This affects a lot of people, maybe even affects you. Subscription now has two buckets. The one that we're all used to. This is called interactive use and this is just pretty much opening the terminal and starting up cloud code or the cloud app, but like nobody uses that. And the second bucket is programmatic usage. What is programmatic usage good for? Well, one very popular thing, Open Claw. A lot of people were abusing the subscription for the longest time. They weren't saying what was allowed or what was not allowed. Now it's official. You can use Open Claw. You're just not gonna get very far with it because API costs are expensive. I ran like 3 minutes of work on my dev platform cost me $1. 10 minutes of work almost $3. So now, you're not gonna be able to run openclaw on non-stop on a cloud subscription. And honestly, I'm fine with that. People were doing some really unproductive dumb things and uh wasting inference and bringing down the servers and ruining it for the rest of us. This is one of the worst status pages I've ever seen in my life. But there are real reasons to have programming usage. For me, I have my own dev platform that does all my work and there are some really good apps that you can use with the cloud sub like Open Code or conductor. The experience with those is absolutely stellar, much better than Clock Code. But this isn't even the worst of it. The worst part is that they are framing this like they are doing you a favor. They're saying that this is a brand spanking new free credit of 20 to 200 dollars. And I've already shown how much it costs. If you're on the lowest plan, you're getting like an hour of work. But, you know what? At the end of the day, I don't blame them. They are running a business and they have to make money and save money somewhere. This is completely fine. But the way they're framing themselves, like they're doing you a favor is completely toxic.
