Honestly, in this day and age, I think coding is completely irrelevant in 2026. With all the AI tools out there, you know, if it's Claude Code, Kodax, whatever, you're just not writing code from scratch. That's completely outdated, and if that's all you can do as a software engineer, you're never gonna get a job or you're gonna get fired. That's the brutal truth. So, what can you do to protect yourself in this age? What's left? It's thinking of system design, knowing everything that goes behind the infrastructure of code. Stuff like DevOps, so if I were in your position, what I would do today is head over to this site called Roadmap.sh and pick the field that you're interested in, if it's like backend engineering or DevOps or whatever. Then click through their entire roadmap and go through each little node, and dive deeper into more of the actual fundamentals of the role. Because what they do is give you resources to learn stuff like AWS, Docker, etc. Things that live outside of the scope of AI, because this is what software engineering is these days. It's honestly what you have to do to get a job.
