Writing code was never the bottleneck. The bottleneck has always been the software engineer. And now that we have AI agents writing shit tons of code, the bottleneck is still the software engineer now trying to review the code and update the code, read it and take all their time to make sure that there's no slap within the code that was generated by AI. And it's funny because now I'm certainly see that these AI agents were optimized to work on things that were never actually the bottleneck within these systems. They're saying that these agents are going to help streamline processes. But what they're not realizing is that AI is optimizing things that were never a bottleneck in the first place. So now we're going to start seeing that, hey, AI's optimizing all these processes and it's going to start pushing things forward. But it's still going to get stuck at the bottleneck, which is the person that actually has to sit down and review the software. Which is exactly why I've always said that the best investment that you can make on yourself right now is getting really good at knowing how to write like fundamentally, really good software. Know the fundamentals. Get familiar with the boring stuff. Learn the things that everyone's saying it's a waste of time because it's not going to be a waste of time when everyone wakes up from this crazy dream thinking that all these agents are going to write all the code and no person is going to be in the loop anymore. We are so far away from a person or a software engineer not being in the loop. It's not even funny. And then what's going to happen is all this code's pushing forward and they still got to depend on the guys that actually know how to read the software, know how what fundamental, like correct software looks like.
