Their other posts in the index, biggest breakout first.
here's everything you need to know for the upcoming trading week. We've got some big earnings, key economic data, the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference and of course the SpaceX IPO on Friday will be the main focus. Quick recap from last week. Markets were looking strong at the beginning of the week, but things took a sharp turn on Friday with all three major indexes falling, major indexes falling hard, including the Nasdaq dropping more than 4%. There was no single obvious reason for this sell-off aside from Broadcom lowering guidance and chip stocks took the hardest hit. Part of me thinks this was profit taking after that massive run that then expanded into a broader sell-off. The other part of me knows that a 4% downside move on the Nasdaq is not normal. The last time we saw a move like that was during the April 2025 tariff crash. Now let's break this week down day by day. On Monday we get earnings from Campbell's and Vail Resorts. The analyst quiet period also ends on Cerebrus Systems. The FOMC blackout period begins this week ahead of the June 16th to 17th Fed meeting. And Apple holds their Worldwide Developer Conference this year's software event is expected to focus on their operating systems and the theme is all Systems Glow. Investors will be watching closely for Apple's next major push into on-device AI, Apple intelligence and an upgraded Siri. On the economic side, we get existing home sales at 10:00 AM. Then at 3:00 PM, the New York Fed releases its survey of consumer expectations. On Tuesday, we get earnings from Casey's General Stores, J M Smucker, Cracker Barrel and Sale Point. We also get investor events from Cloud Flare and Tyler Technologies. On Wednesday, we get earnings from Oracle, Chewy and Nvidia. Oracle is gonna be the big one here. Investors will be watching cloud growth, AI infrastructure demand and whether enterprise spending is still holding up. Anthropic will also hold a code with cloud event in Tokyo, which keeps AI software and developer tools in focus. The big macro event is going to be CPI, the May consumer price index report will be released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Economists expect core inflation to move up to 2.9% with airfare expected to show a major jump. This is one of the biggest economic reports of the week. On Thursday, we get earnings from Adobe, Lennar and RH. Adobe is the major tech report here. Investors will be watching for AI monetization, Creative Cloud demand and whether the company can prove that generative AI is helping growth rather than threatening it. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has also been invited to testify before the Senate about the company's China business in US export controls. And then on Friday, we're also gonna get the PPI report. Economists expect core PPI to rise 0.7% month over month. And then Friday is going to be the big day of the week. The SpaceX IPO is expected to begin trading under the Nasdaq under the ticker SPCX. And then also on Friday, KLA Corporation begins trading on a split adjusted basis after its 10 for 1 stock split in Centessa Pharmaceutical shareholders will vote on the acquisition offer from Eli Lilly.
