IT’S BAAAAAAAACK!!!! 🥳🐲💪 Test optional was a failed experiment in education policy, where colleges pretended that it was possible to compare students who attended different high schools based on their high school grades. You don’t need a PhD to know that that’s total BS, you just need some basic common sense. Do you know why every other country on earth has a standardized test for college admission? It’s because it works. Because at the end of the day, you need to provide a fair, consistent standard for students to prove their academic abilities before you admit them to elite academic institutions. None of this is novel, but for many years, we had to listen to complete imbeciles drone on about how they are “geniuses” except for when you bothered to test them. In the meantime, Ivy League colleges admitted an entire generation of unqualified applicants and had to introduce remedial math classes, teaching basic high school math for the first time. What an embarrassment. Thankfully, schools like Dartmouth took the plunge when it still was unpopular, brought back the SAT and sanity, along with it and pave the way for the rest of the Ivy League colleges to pull their heads out of the sand. With Columbia going back to requiring the exam, perhaps all of the fake college influencers who promoted test optional policies Will apologize for misleading their audiences. I doubt that we’ll see it, but it’s a good clarifying question to know who the real experts are. #ivyleague #admissions #columbia #sat #required
