Hook

Their other posts in the index, biggest breakout first.
Every week our rescue makes it a point to visit our local shelter to help walk dogs and hand out pup cups. And week after week, we see Kade. One of my favorite things about Kade besides the fact that he's available for adoption is the fact that he looks like he was glued together from about three different dogs. I don't know what breeds are in there, but whatever the recipe was, it worked. What Kade lacks in height, he more than makes up for in character. He's hilarious. At nine years old, Kade somehow missed the memo that he's supposed to be slowing down. I wouldn't describe him as clingy. In fact, Kade is actually a pretty independent guy. But once he gets to know you, you'll notice him gravitating towards you for a scratch behind the ears or a few pets. There's something really endearing about that. His affection feels earned. The truth is, every time I see a senior dog in shelter care, it hits me a little differently. And not because Kade is sad. He isn't. But because time is one of the things that none of us get more of. And with the years Kade has left, I can't help but think that they should be spent in a home. On a couch, exploring with his person. If you've been thinking about adding a dog to your family, maybe the dog you've been looking for is this funny little riding guy who's been patiently waiting for his turn. His name is Kade, and I think he's more than ready. He's hilarious. At nine years old, Kade somehow missed the memo that he's supposed to be slowing down. I wouldn't describe him as clingy.
