I'm genuinely tired of people saying oh, "Elon's a trillionaire he can erase student debt he can solve world hunger" when that's not how it works at all. Since when has your net worth ever equal liquidity? It's not just money sitting in his checking account. We all know his net worth is just his stocks tied to the companies he owns. He cannot just write a check from it. And he can't sell it either because the second he starts dumping stocks the price collapses and that number only exists because he's not selling. And also do the math. Americans owe $2 trillion in student debt. That's double whatever is worth. Keep in mind that's still net worth. That's not liquid. And world hunger is a logistic issue. It's not really a capital issue. More importantly if you had that, would you give it all away just cause people online were telling it to you? This is his scoreboard for 20 years that he's been recording of risk that no one else would take. Now do this. Try building something yourself first even if it's small. See how hard and how much work it takes you to get there. Now see if you would hand it all just because a stranger said you had enough. I think you already know the answer to that.
