I paid around $86,000 after fees, docs, transportation, all that stuff to get the car to my house. we have four categories. the car payment, the insurance, the gas and the maintenance. let's break it down. so to get approved I put down $30,000 which is about 35% of the loan. granted I was 17 even with a co signer it was very difficult to get approved for an exotic. and my payments around $973 a month. I pay around $256 a month for insurance. I spend around $440 a month for gas on my car. now finally maintenance, this was the biggest kicker. I ended up spending around $13,000 this year alone on maintenance. transmission issues, coils, plugs, repairs, all that stuff. and this is the number I'm at per month per year and this is what it cost to own an exotic and buy it at 17.
