If you have an MSW and 5, 10 or 15 years of experience working inside healthcare organizations, nonprofits, schools or government systems, you are not an entry-level consultant. You’re a subject matter expert with a track record. The problem is not your qualifications. It’s that nobody taught you how to price your expertise as a business asset instead of an hourly rate. A $5000 consulting engagement is not a stretch for someone with your background. It’s a starting point. And it’s based on the value of what you deliver. When you can help an organization solve a problem that cost them significantly more than that to go unsolved, $5000 is conservative. Start there and build from there.
