01/12 A FOOTBALL STORY I couldn't get into my school team. Not an academy kid. Not a prodigy. Just a Sunday league footballer. This is how I went from there to finishing a step-four season as my team's top scorer. 02/12 THEN, AT 16 Something clicked. I realised I actually loved this game. So I asked one question - why not see how far I can take it? At that point I was a Sunday league player, at best. 03/12 SO I MADE A DECISION I locked everything in. Diet dialled in. A gym plan built for football. Extra sessions in the garden. While everyone my age was out drinking and partying - I was training. 04/12 THE TRUTH Was it lonely? Yeah. But I had this fire. A need to prove people wrong - and prove myself right. 05/12 AND IT STARTED WORKING Sunday league ↓ U18s midweek ↓ Step six ↓ Step five Level by level, the work was paying off. 06/12 THEN LOUGHBOROUGH They put me in the sixth team. I expected the first team. Instead - the lowest side, my entire first year. Second year, the 2s. Step eight. I'm thinking: I'm going backwards. Should I just quit and enjoy uni like everyone else? 07/12 BUT ONE STORY KEPT ME GOING A guy called Liam Moore. I lied my way into a coaching session he was in. Ex- Leicester City - he captained them to the Championship title. After training we went for coffee, and he started telling stories. 08/12 66 When Kane got to Leicester, nobody rated him. Couldn't get in the team. Couldn't get off the bench. People were asking why they'd even signed him. 09/12 BUT EVERY DAY AFTER TRAINING Kane stayed. A bag of balls. Left foot. Right foot. Technique. Side netting. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. 10/12 AND IT HIT ME From the 6s to the 1s - why not me? If Kane could go from average in the Championship to the greatest England striker we've seen, why couldn't I climb my own ladder? That story changed everything. 11/12 FINAL YEAR First team.
