I tried to use this 9 year old budget iPhone in 2026. Okay, so I'm on a mission to use as many old iPhones as I can. How about this iPhone 8 from 2017? It was released alongside the higher end iPhone X, $999, was the budget option. Well, how will this work in 2026? For starters, it's stuck on iOS 16.7.11, which is 4 years old now. It does not 5G. It does not have promotion. Single camera. But America supports 4G. So I got in my car, drove to Best Buy to get a prepaid SIM, $20, but activating it and yeah, it works. I can call people, receive calls. The 4G is also relatively fast. So I went on the App Store and most of the apps like Instagram, YouTube, installed with no issues. Instagram works, although it is hella choppy to scroll. TikTok crashed. But then it worked. A little laggy. So, and also, this is how videos look on old phones. Techboi. iPhone Users are the WORST #iphone #android #smartphones. Yeah, YouTube also works perfectly. The third. Everything is perfect. Why would you upgrade? The phone gets hot while scrolling. The battery dies really fast because it's at 79% health. Touch ID has never really worked for me. The one camera is an issue for me as a creator.
