23 stop using a savings account

I'm 23 years old and I keep $50,000 in a high yield savings account. So when I saw a girl on TikTok bragging about how she has $20,000 savings in a regular savings account and $20,000 checking account, I knew I had to get on here immediately. A high yield savings account just pays interest way more than a traditional bank to keep your money there. Just use my numbers for an example. If I had that $50,000 in a regular savings account at a 0.01% interest rate, which is what a normal savings account is, I would be earning $5. Since I have that in a high yield account right now, 3.8% APY, that's an extra $1,900 every single year that I'm not doing anything because it's an I O U savings account. I'm doing nothing. You would rather earn $5 or an extra $2 grand for doing literally the same thing, just having it in a different place. And high yield savings accounts are completely free and completely safe. There's no risk. If you're looking for good options to put your money into a high yield savings account, I personally use Sofi and I absolutely love them because that's also where I have my brokerage, everything, one spot. I do not have to be logging into multiple platforms trying to figure out where all my money's at. It's just in one space and it's so user-friendly, so beginner-friendly, especially if this has opened your eyes to want to make more money by doing literally nothing. Word.
