Freshmen vs seniors in band

Right, first day of band practice. It can't be that bad, right? I love band, but I am glad that it is my last year. Okay, how am I supposed to march and play at the same time? I'm wobbling all over the place. Hey guys, marching and playing is not that hard. All you gotta do is use a little bit of your brain, squeeze your butt cheeks, and you'll be fine. Uh, is there a trick to memorizing this music? 'Cause you just handed me like eight pages. I just don't think this is happening. Personally, guys, there is no trick to learn in this music. All you gotta do is play over and over again until it sticks in your brain. And if you can't do that, then maybe band isn't for you. How long is practice today, by the way? Eight hours. Gosh, I didn't know I'd be working a 9 to 5 today. What the heck? Look guys, I know the practices are long, but it's only for one week. After this, they will get shorter. Is that guy over there passed out or is he just taking a nap? Oh, he is passed out. How athletic are we? Oh, we just had our first person pass out. Happens every year. Honestly, I'm surprised it took them this long. Thank goodness, practice is finally over. What do you mean it's not over? If I wasn't a section leader, I'd probably just leave 'cause I already have all my music memorized.
