Anyone wanna sign up to handle all of this?? 👀 here we are supporting and teaching fundamental skills like literally how to read to children with a huge range of Needs as well as helping to identify the children who need that extra support and advocating for them We need to be treating all teachers but especially these teachers as the highly skilled, knowledgeable, educated professionals that they are.

@Dillion Kordell Early childhood educators are superheroes. They differentiate instruction, meet learners exactly where they are, advocate for accommodations, collect and analyze data, communicate with families, and often provide the foundation for special education services, all while teaching 20–30 unique children with diverse needs. Now more than ever, we need to give ALL teachers, but especially early childhood and elementary educators, the respect, compensation, support, and voice they deserve. And the saddest part is, while all teachers need to be treated better, the ones who are disrespected the most and paid the least are those working in the early childhood years. I've taught first grade for six years now, and my oldest students are already in sixth grade. One of my favorite parts of teaching is following my former students' journeys and hearing about the interventions, accommodations, and supports they are receiving today because of the data, documentation, and advocacy that began years earlier in first grade. What many people don't realize is that strong Tier 1 instruction is often the first step in identifying students who need additional support. Evidence-based literacy instruction should be explicit, systematic, cumulative, and informed by ongoing assessment data. It includes review, practice, reteaching, and targeted intervention when students need more time and support. For students with dyslexia and other learning disabilities, high-quality Tier 1 instruction is especially important. Without it, it becomes much harder to determine whether a child is struggling because of inadequate instruction or because they have an underlying learning disability that requires specialized intervention. Early elementary teachers aren't just teaching children to read, write, and do math. They're building the foundation that helps students access support, develop confidence, and succeed for years to come.
