If you're new, listen up. So new teachers, new graduates, new special education teachers, follow the IEP. Period. Follow it. The second you get access to your caseload, you need to print it out. You need to find out what's due, what evaluations need to be done, what three-year re-evals and then you need to start reading them. That's what's going to guide your instruction and how you're going to build your classroom, your schedules, your paraprofessionals. It all comes down to the IEP. And never, ever be late on an IEP. This is your student's access to education, their civil rights. That is my number one thing that I have kept consistent for 14 years. Never be late on an IEP. The IEP guides your classroom instruction and if it is off or something needs to be changed, then you need to call the team together and make those revisions. Any questions?
