If you just got a spider plant and you're starting to notice a little brown on the tips of your leaves and you're trying to figure out what you did wrong, don't worry, it's not you, it may be just the plant. Hi, my name is Sarah and I own a house plant store in Wake Forest, North Carolina and I love to yap about plants. Spider plants are great beginner plants if you're just getting into the plant world, but they can be a little tricky to figure out, so let's talk about it. They are notorious for getting brown tips on the top of their leaves and while it's not a huge concern, it is a little bit annoying. There's a few things to why this happens and one is lack of humidity. Spider plants are a little sensitive to drier air and the first thing to go are the tips of the leaves, that's why they start to turn brown. These are great bathroom plants if you've got a little shelf in your bathroom that you can put kind of near the shower, awesome for that. Another reason why your tips are turning brown is going to be inconsistent watering. If your plant drys out in between each watering, it's essentially going to stress out the plant, therefore making the tips a little browner, meaning it's unhappy.
