swim swim How we taught our autistic son to swim 🧩💙 How we taught our autistic son to swim 🧩💙 He knows how to swim in the 6 foot water And a lot of you guys also ask how did we teach him how to swim And the answer is honestly he just started to take off his little floaty We used to like have him wearing the life floaty But he just started taking it off And till he just learned how to swim like he honestly just taught himself There's no like straight up technique But he's such a great swimmer a fish cardier too I feel like That the thing is we taught them young like you can't wait till they're older because then they'll be scared One Two Three Big boy That was a big splash And they're in 6 foot water right now so a lot of kids can't even swim in that type of deep water but they're such great swimmers But honestly I will say when I was like their age I started like learning at like two and three Because my grandma and papa would literally just like make us get in without a floaty And you just honestly learn sink or swim Jump Jump Jump You are a mom of a special needs son I highly encourage you guys to teach your children how to swim as early as you can Because there's so many accidental drownings that happen And I can have a little bit less anxiety and worries knowing that my son knows how to swim Jump

So many special needs kids are naturally drawn to water, & bc wandering/elopement can be a real concern, swim lessons can truly be life-saving. We wanted to start early not just for fun, but to help equip him with a skill that could one day protect him. If you’re a special needs parent, this is your encouragement to start swim lessons as early as you can.
