This right here means so much to me. A few months ago, this moment would’ve turned into full overwhelm and a meltdown. Now he’s able to say he needs a break, ask for time, and even agree to a timer to help him come back. And I just want to be clear — he’s not in ABA therapy right now. These are things I’m learning as an ABA student and through my work as an RBT… and just applying in our everyday life at home. Simple things like: – teaching him how to ask for a break – giving him the language for what he needs – using timers as a transition cue Nothing crazy. Just real, everyday things that actually help. I’m just really proud of him 🥹💙 If you’re in that meltdown stage right now… I see you. It gets better #AutismMom ##specialneedsmom #abatherapy #rbtlife #autismparenting
