Hook
I had a 15 minute conversation with one of my coworkers while we were getting coffee and in my head I'm just looking down at my watch like, bro, we've been talking for a minute. I gotta get back to my desk. I have work to do. And he kind of just looks at me and laughs like, yo, you're good. We do this all the time. As long as you're getting your work done, as long as you're proactive, you don't have anything to worry about. Versus when I worked retail, when I worked warehouse jobs, it was not like that. You were constantly being monitored. If you were on your phone, that was a huge no-no. Micromanaging was at its highest. I mean, you couldn't do anything like this without having to sneak around. And I'm not complaining, I absolutely love it. It feels so much better knowing that I can be a normal person and if I got to step away from my computer and take a walk or just take a break, nobody's over my shoulder 24/7.
