Why it worked

The video resonates with viewers who feel similarly about work-life balance, tapping into a common sentiment about the all-consuming nature of corporate jobs and the desire for a fulfilling life outside of work.

Summary

The creator discusses how people in corporate environments often make their jobs their entire life. She notes that when someone mentions having a life outside of work, they are often met with skepticism because their job is their perceived 'big picture'. The creator contrasts this by stating her own life is not solely defined by her job, as she is younger and has other aspirations.

Structure

Transcript

One thing I've noticed about working with people in corporate is that this, that job, is their whole life. Okay? And the moment you say that you have a life outside of that, is the moment they side-eye you because that's their big picture. And that's not your big picture too. Like, they be like, but I'm sorry sister, I'm younger and turned. I got stuff I gotta up, stuff I gotta do too.
