You can understand addictions perfectly and still remain addicted. One of the biggest things I talked about at 26 is something I call the personal architecture. You see we spend a lot of time talking about the external architecture of addiction, social media, betting platforms, pornography systems and all these things matter. But here's the uncomfortable truth. Even if we fixed all of them tomorrow, many people will still struggle because there's another architecture work. Your personal architecture. The promises you either keep or break. For example, you tell yourself you stop scrolling by 10:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m. comes. Keep scrolling. You tell yourself you wake up early. The alarm rings, but you ignore it. You tell yourself you'll study, you'll pray, you exercise, you will start. And then you don't. Every time that happens, something important breaks, trust! The strongest people we see are often times not the most motivated. They're simply the sort of people who have learnt to trust themselves the most because when they say to do something, they actually do it. Addiction recovery is not just about resisting temptation. It's about rejection and self-trust. and that begins with keeping small promises. What one promise will be making to yourself that needs action today.
