Why do the world's wealthiest people their own charities? Here's nothing helping anyone. Yogi just made £10 million pounds. The taxman wants £3 million of it. But Yogi isn't having that. So he fills out a bit of paperwork and creates a charity. He calls it the Yogi Foundation. Then he donates the £10 million straight into his brand new charity. Because it's a charitable donation, the government rewards him for it. His tax bill drops instantly to zero. But hold on, didn't Yogi just give away all his money? Not even close. Because Yogi appointed himself CEO of the Foundation. He then pays himself an annual salary. His friends and family onto the board of directors. He buys a private jet with the charity's funds. He tells the taxman it's a business expense for charity's travel. He still controls every penny. He still lives like royalty. Except now his money is completely untouchable by the taxman. And the best part? Everyone thinks Yogi's a hero.
